Bhatkal: Things back to normal after a minor scuffle turns communal for a while

Bhatkal 25 Oct 2017: A minor scuffle between an Auto-Driver and a local shop vendor turned into a communal affair when people of both the parties gathered outside Bhatkal town police station protesting against the arrest of their respective person.
The incident took place when a few auto-drivers forcefully tried to close down a vendor's shop citing that the shop was illegally placed on Public Chabutra. A few youngsters then started protesting against the moral policing of the auto-drivers. Thing took an ugly turn when the auto-drivers tried to snatch the mobile phone of a person who was filming the act of moral policing, soon it turned into a scuffle between two parties. Since members of both the parties were of two different communities, in no time it took the communal color.
Police rushed to the spot and took the auto-driver and Ain-ul into their custody for investigation. Soon people of both the communities gathered outside police station in solidarity with their respective parties.
Officials of Majlis-e-Islah Wa Tanzeem including Gen. secy Altaf Kharuri, TMC President Sadiq Matta, TMC Vice president Ashfaque KM and others also visited police station to see into the legal procedures of the case.
A complaint was filed against the auto-driver Vasanth of Hanuman Nagar by the shop owner Muhammed Arif Abubaker, Vasanth then filed a complaint against Ain-ul as well. Both the case are registered at Bhatkal town police station. Police is further investigating the case.
