Bhatkal: Thieves break into house in broad daylight; robs off valuables worth 1.7 lac

Bhatkal 15 September 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Thieves broke into a house in broad daylight after breaking the backdoor of a house and robbed away valuables worth Rs 1.77 lac here at Jali of Bhatkal Taluka. According to the sources, A gang of robbers on Friday morning around 9.00 am broke into the house of Lingappa Naik, and robbed gold rings worth Rs. 30,000, a necklace worth Rs. 50,000, Earrings worth Rs. 48,000, Gold Bangles worth Rs.29,000 and cash of Rs.20,000, total amounting to over Rs 1.75 lac. According to the reports, the owners of the house had left home for a religious pooja to mark the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi for not more than an hour, when the incident took place. The thieves got their hands on the cupboard which had all the valuables stored, and escaped the crime scene in less than an hour when Lingappa Naik came back from pooja with his family to be left stunned.
