Bhatkal: 26 September,2019 (Bhatkallys News Service) A delegation of Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem led by its President S M Parvez on Thursday morning met Bhatkal Assistant Commissioner, Sajid Ahmed Mulla and officials of National Highway Authorities of India (NHAI) and IRB at AC’s office here in Bhatkal.
The delegation reportedly put forth grievances of people ahead of the officials and demanded adequate solutions to the problems being faced by the people owing to the NH widening in the town. On top of the delegation’s agenda was the crossing/pass by between the road divider on widened highway, a concern that has been widely discussed and debated among the residents on local social media groups.
According to the reports, the crossing on widened highway will cause inconvenience to the local residents as they will have to take longer routes to enter crosses. The delegation specifically pressed upon getting at least five crossings/pass by on highway in the town to make it easier for people to commute to their respective crosses.
The NHAI and IRB officials then accepted a written application for the same in this regard and also advised the delegation to meet and discuss the matter with local MLA.
The officials also informed the delegation that a fly-over each will be constructed from Noor Masjid to Kamakshi Petrol and from Ranginkatte to Venkatapur where as per the plan there are no crossings or pass by. The delegation has urged the officials to consider their application and have at least five crossings between the divider.
Earlier, the officials of Tanzeem had also met local MLA Sunil Naik with similar request. Sunil had then assured support to the delegation and had also assured them of taking up the issue with higher authorities.
Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem Vice Presiden Ateequr Rahman Muniri, General Secretary, Abdul Raqeeb MJ, and Secretary Jailani  Shabandriwere also part of the delegation
