Bhatkal: Taluka Working Journalists Association celebrates journalism day

Bhatkal 6 July 2019: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Uttara Kannada Working Journalist Association along with Taluka Working journalist Association jointly celebrated Journalism day here at RNS Polytechnic Auditorium on Saturday, 6 July. Inaugurating the event, MLA Sunil Naik addressed the gathering and said, "Journalists have the power to influence people. They are the mouth piece of the society which helps brings the problems of people to the notice of concerned authorities and government” he also thanked the local media for helping him in connecting with the local people and to resolve issues faced by them. Chief Guest for the event state working journalist Association President, Shivanand Tagadooru spoke on the occasion and said, "Earlier it used to take 4 to 5 days to publish a news. But now due to development on social media within minutes news are shared among people" On this occasion State working Journalist Association member B. Subraya Bhat and Yellapur Working Journalist Association President Narashima Sathodi were honored with K. Shamrao Award. MB Hegde, Anand Bhat, MV Hegde, B. Subraya Bhat, Narashima Sathodi were felicitated during the occasion. Uttara Kannada Working Journalist Association President RK Bhat presided over the event Members of Taluka and District Working Journalist Association, Taluka Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Gangadhar Naik and others were present during the occasion.
