Bhatkal Tahsildar seizes unauthorized factory

Bhatkal 24 Feb 2018 : An unauthorized Manufacturing industry at Nooj near Belke of Bhatkal was seized and locked by a team led by Tashildar VN Bhatkar and the department of police here on Thursday.

The land which is owned by Timma Masti Naik where the industrial activity was taking place was raided in the early hours of Thursday and seized a Generator, two motors, 25 Lead containers, a chain rive and other equipment.

The factory used to melt the used batteries of vehicles and extract Lead from it which was exhaling poisonous gas and caused breathing problems to the locals.

The concerned department had issued notice to the factory which was running from last three months to shut down the factory but it was ignored by the owners of the factory. After the matter was brought to the notice of Tahsildar, he had cut down the power supply for the factory but the factory again started operating on generators which was followed by the raid.
