Bengaluru: Alliance ProLearn Private Limited, a startup founded by two young students from Bhatkal, has won the prestigious NexGen Skills Shapers Award 2025 at the 16th edition of India’s Business Iconic Awards held at the White Pearl ASR Convention Centre in Yelahanka, Bengaluru.

The startup was co-founded by Mohammed Ismail and Mohammed Meera Mohtesham with the aim of equipping school and college students with 21st-century skills. Their courses cover Robotics, Electronics, Coding, Artificial Intelligence, Drone Technologies and even non-technical areas like Martial Arts. What began as a small effort to give students practical knowledge has now earned recognition on a national platform for its innovative model.

Ismail is currently pursuing his M.Tech in Robotics and Industrial Automation at MIT, Manipal, while Meera is studying Electronics Engineering at AITM, Bhatkal. Both of them dedicated the award to their late mentor, Yaseen Sir, recalling his constant encouragement and role in shaping their vision.

Calling the honour a “dream turned into reality,” the founders said the recognition reminded them of their late-night discussions, the challenges they faced and the belief that skills have the power to transform lives. They also thanked their team, the learners who trusted them, and the many well-wishers who stood by them throughout the journey.

For the people of Bhatkal, the award is a proud moment as it shows how student-led ventures from smaller towns can create an impact at the national level.
