Bhatkal: Six houses reportedly collapsed after heavy rains batter Taluka on Sunday

Bhatkal 29 May 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Heavy rain along with thunderstorm has left many houses damaged and collapsed in various parts of the Taluka here on Sunday 28 May. The downpour accompanied with the thunderstorm brought down trees in various parts of the Taluka on Sunday night, resulting in damages reported to several houses which came under the fallen trees. About four houses in Tengingundi locality belonging to Channaya Naik, Manju Gonda, Malli Nagappa Moger and Manjappa Naik were reported to have been collapsed. While at Mavalli region of the Taluka, two other houses reportedly belonging to Mahadevi Jattappa Naik and Venkataramana Naik have been collapsed after a huge tree fell over the houses. However, the village accountant and the Revenue department officials visited the spots to investigate the conditions on Monday morning. (Bhatkallys News Bureau/ Fristen Dias)
