Bhatkal: SIO demands immediate release of pre-matric scholarships to minority students; threatens of protests

Bhatkal 4 December 2019: As the Minority Welfare Department of Karnataka, rolled back pre-matric scholarship due to lack of funds, Student Islamic Organization of India, (SIO) Bhatkal Unit submitted a memorandum to Tahsildar of Bhatkal regarding release of pre-matric Scholarship for the year 2019-20 here at his office on Tuesday. Addressed to Chief Minister of Karnataka the memorandum stated "As most of the student from class 1 to 10th have not received their scholarship, most of the children are suffering due to lack of money to pay fees. Students have already applied for the scholarship online and fund for the scholarship of minority students has to be released immediately for the year 2019-20 failing which a protest will be called out”. On this occasion Student Islamic Organization of India, Bhatkal Unit President, Sanaullah Asadi, Bilal Ruknuddin and other members and associates were present at Tahsildar’s office.
