Bhatkal siblings shine at state karate championship in Moodbidri

Moodbidri:03 September 2025 (Bhatkallys News Bureau)  The State-level Karate Championship, organised by the Shorin-Ryu Karate Association in collaboration with Swami’s Strength Training and MK Ananthraj College of Physical Education, witnessed an impressive performance by three siblings from Bhatkal who are pursuing their studies in Mangaluru.

 

Fifteen-year-old Ismail Nameer, a student of Huda Islamia School, Mangaluru, bagged the first place in Kumite (fight).

 

His younger brother Hamdan, aged 11 and studying at Presidency School, Mangaluru, won first place in Kumite and finished second in Kata in his age category.

 

Umme Kulsum, also from Presidency School, claimed the first place in the Fighting category in the under-8 group.

 

The trio are children of Nisar Ahmed Ruknuddin and Nada, originally from Bhatkal and now settled in Mangaluru.
