Bhatkal 5 July 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Most of the Government Urdu Primary schools of Bhatkal are facing shortages of teachers, and one among those schools is the Government Urdu Higher Primary School of Purvarga of Bhatkal where three teachers are teaching six subjects for seven classes everyday.
Speaking to Bhatkallys.com Head Mistress of the school Ms. Asmath said that most of the Government Urdu schools are facing same problems here in Bhatkal, and most of the them don't have an English teacher.
"We have three teachers, and we have divided six subjects into ourselves to teach the students. We have over 35 students in seven classes here, and managing the classes is not so easy, we have to manage more than one class at a time, so it becomes burden academically" the Head Mistress adds.
"Last year the local sports and welfare club had sponsored a private English teacher for the school but she left this year and did not continue, putting us into a jeopardy once again. We can manage other subjects as those are to be thought in Urdu, but teaching English is difficult, we teach them the basics so that the students can pass the exams, but we can't teach the essentials of the language like communication etc which plays an important role in the future course of students' careers".
The administration is also failing to meet the number of required staffs at the schools, and is unable to provide the students with the teachers they are in need and a future they deserve.
While the administration has its own set of problems to deploy the required number of teachers, Mrs. Asmath is concerned about the future of the students and has urged those who can to voluntarily spend sometime and help them secure the student's future.
"People can definitely help us, those who are good in teaching and has the knowledge of subject can join us voluntarily and teach students, it will be a noble thing to anyone to do, and if one wants to join with a minimal remuneration fixed for him/her we can also discuss it with the local sports club and come out with a solution, we can't really wait till administration fills in the vacancy, it can take years, these students deserve better education and opportunity and we as a society should look forward to resolve it until the administration comes in with solution". Mrs. Asmath said.
