Bhatkal: Second theft case reported in two days, now a box full of gold stolen from a locked house

Bhatkallys News Bureau/ Rizwan Gangavali Bhatkal 27 Jan 2018: To the further ire of the locals of Bhatkal yet another theft case was reported in town on Saturday evening at Jamia Abad road locality of the town. The incident took place on Jan 27 2018, when Mohsin Barmawar who was on a trip to Mangaluru with his family was informed about the open door when nobody was actually there inside their residence on a phone call. Acting swiftly the locals informed the police about the case who swung into action and registered a case. According to the reports, a garbage picker informed the neighbor that the front door of Mohsin’s house was open but nobody was responding him from inside. Upon investigation it was reported that a box full gold containing over 300 grams of gold was stolen from the cupboard of the house after the burglars broke it open. This is the second theft case reported in two days and only one of the many cases that has been reported in town lately. The locals however didn’t take things lightly and urged police to arrest the culprits immediately or to face protests. This is high time the police department braces itself and nab the culprits at the earliest else they just might have to face the music by the public who are now thinking of mass protests against the growing number of theft cases which will account for mounting more pressure on them.
