Bhatkal robbery accuse arrested in Bantwal

Bhatkal/ Bantwal July 27, 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Bantwal police on Thursday arrested man follwing his suspicious activities from Bantwal railway station, while also suspecting him to be the accused of recent robbery at Shirali village of Bhatkal Taluka.
The accused has been identified as Umanath Prabhu (51), a resident of Kalmudkur village of Mangaluru.
According to the sources, Umanath on Thursday at Bantwal railway station became fussy upon noticing Police. Suspecting his behavior, the police started to inquire him.
Later during the interrogation he confessed that he had robbed the house at Shirali of Bhatkal.
The police seized 123.770 grams of silver worth Rs. 5,445/-, 108.750 grams of Gold worth Rs. 3,05,043/-, and cash of Rs. 52,390/- which was in his bag. The police have also recovered the gold weighing 38.98 grams which he had sold earlier.
A case has been registered at Bantwal police station.
