Bhatkal: Residents demand end to illegal construction on disputed land

Bhatkal 14 February 2018 : Chandra Shaniyar Naik, Somayya Manjappa Naik and the other villagers submitted a memorandum to the Bhatkal Assistant Commissioner demanding the immediate stoppage of the construction of compound walls and the building in the plot near Venkatapur, on which a litigation is already underway in Karnataka Appellate Tribunal Court of Bengaluru.

The memorandum stated that a land in Venktapur which allegedly belongs to Masti Gonda of Scheduled caste was wrongly transferred to Fathima Batool Ishran Ahmed Jubapu by the tax department. after which a case was filed in the Karnataka Appellate Tribunal of Bengaluru and is underway.

They further added that as the two parties are still awaiting the court's verdict, Fathima Ahmed Jubapu trespassed the land and started the construction work of compound and the building.

They requested in the memorandum that the Assistant Commissioner should take necessary actions to stop illegal construction work on the land

A copy of letter was also sent to the Union Minister Anant Kumar Hegde, Tashildar of Bhatkal and PSI of Bhatkal rural police station.
