Bhatkal remembers Pulwana Heroes in silent march

Bhatkal, February 17, 2019 (Bhatkallys News Bureau): Remembering Indain martyrs in the recent Pulwana terror attack, Bhatkal town came together in a solidarity march to pay tributes to fallen heroes. Representing a collection of educational, social, political and welfare organisations in Bhatkal, the solidarity march started from Bhatkal IB. The march weaved across important landmarks of Bhatkal as young students held placards and candles in memory of the soldiers. The solemn mood and silent march continued as "This is the least we can do for our heroes and we are gathered here to sympathise with the martyrs and remember them forever," said Nazir Ahmed Atar, a Bhatkal fire brigade officer. Suresh Pujari, JCI Bhatkal member, condemned the Pulwana Attack and reminded the youth of their responsibility towards the nation and their community. Mohammad Hanif Shabab, former general secretary of the Majlis-e-Islah Wa Tanzeem, expressed his grief over the attacks and called on the youth to stay united in their resolve to fight divisive forces. The march was attended by students of schools, colleges and universities alsong side representatives of SIO, PFI, Rotary Club, JCI and other social organisations.
