Bhatkal records low turnout for ZP by-polls

30 Sep 2013 / Rizwan Gangavaly / Bhatkallys News Bhatkal: Jaali Zilla Panchayat by-elections in Bhatkal saw a poor turnout of voters in all the 22 polling booths. The polling which began in the morning and ended in the evening recorded only 43.59% of polling. As per details, Jali Panchayat area (Zone 50) recorded the highest turnout with 60.20% polling and Madeena Colony (Zone 54) recorded the lowest with 22.69%. It should be kept in mind that out of 19,709 voters in the Zilla Panchayat area only 8,592 voters exercised their voting rights.
