Bhatkal: To address complaints from public against rash driving of school tempos, Bhatkal Police arranged a meeting in Bhatkal police station with the school management and tempo drivers.
On this occasion, Bhatkal Town Police Station's PSI Johnson Dsouza warned that if any school tempo is caught driving rashly then strict action will be taken against him. While instructing drivers to drive at slow speeds, he mentioned that small kids travel in these tempos and if any untoward incident happens then the children will have to face a lot of trouble and their education will be affected.
He instructed the school management to recruit tempo drivers only after a thorough evaluation of their license, their knowledge of traffic rules and regulations and road discipline.
