Bhatkal Police trace lost mobile phones through CEIR Portal, return them to owners

Bhatkal: 22 August 2025 (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Police in Bhatkal town have successfully traced and recovered several lost mobile phones using the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal and handed them back to their owners.

The initiative, carried out under the Bhatkal Town Police Station limits, has brought relief to citizens who had lost their devices. 

Superintendent of Police, in a tweet, appreciated the efforts of the police team and highlighted the importance of the CEIR system in tackling mobile theft and loss cases. The portal helps block lost or stolen phones across networks, making it easier to track and return them to owners.

Police have urged the public to report cases of lost or stolen mobile phones at the earliest so that the CEIR mechanism can be effectively utilised for quick recovery.
