Bhatkal police to take action for not wearing masks: Assistant Commissioner advises to strictly follow govt. instructions

Bhatkal: August 26, 2020 (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Going to public places in Bhatkal without a mask can now be costly as the taluka administration has allowed police personnel to take legal action and impose fines in this regard. Prior to that, it was monitored by municipal, panchayat and health officials. In a press conference held in this regard today, the Assistant Commissioner told the media that for the last few days, the people of Bhatkal have been taking carelessness regarding masks and other precautionary measures, though many cases of corona are coming to light here every day. The AC said that for not wearing a mask, a fine of Rs. 100 will be imposed for the first time, Rs. 200 for the second time and if caught many times not wearing the mask, then legal action will be taken and a case will be filed. It is to be noted that one person has been reported dead from Corona in Bhatkal even today while four people from Bhatkal have died due to Corona this week. In such a situation, it is the responsibility of the people to abide by all the orders given by the government and if any symptoms are found, they must be examined by doctors.
