Bhatkal police shocks Auto-drivers, registers 50 cases in a single day; Know why

Bhatkal 26 September 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Bhatkal town police on Tuesday registered about 50 cases on Auto rickshaw drivers after they failed to produce valid licence and insurance, here at the old bus stand of Bhatkal Taluka. As accidents cases have seen rises lately in the Taluka, the town police have taken effective measures to bring it down. However, on Tuesday a team led by PSI Kusumadhara raided the auto rickshaws stand and registered cases against 50 rickshaw drivers without badge, uniform, Insurance and also without valid licence and collected penalties of about Rs. 12,000/-. Commenting on the issue PSI Kusumadhar said “About 310 cases were registered with in a month and About Rs.85,000/- penalty amount is collected from them. However, 153 cases have been registered in the last week and Rupees.35,000/- penalty has been collected." (Bhatkallys News Bureau)
