Bhatkal Police seize 175 kg of stolen Areca Nuts; Four arrested

Bhattkal:10 August 2025 (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Personnel from Bhatkal Rural Police Station of Bhatkal, under the leadership of Police Inspector Manjunath, has seized a large quantity of illegal areca nuts from a rural area in Bhattkal. Four people were arrested in connection with the case.

Police recovered 175 kilograms of areca nuts, which were stolen and intended for unlawful sale.

The police have initiated further investigation into the matter and have appealed to the public and local officials to cooperate in curbing illegal activities related to areca nut trade in the area.

A photo released by the police shows the seized areca nuts stacked on a table in front of the Bhatkal Rural Police Station, along with the police officers and accused persons involved in the operation.
