Bhatkal Police conducts public awareness campaign

Bhatkal - To clean Bhatkal town from crimes and accidents, Bhatkal Police has conducted a public meet here at Bhatkal Urban Bank's Hafizka Hall yesterday. This meeting was held as a part of public awareness campain launched by Bhatkal Police.

Addressing the gathering Bhatkal DySP Mr. M. Narayan while explaining his plans regarding prevention of crimes said, 'First of all Close Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras would be installed at selected places. The person who sells mobile sim cards will be advised to sell sim cards after getting complete details like id proof and address proof. Parking system will be improved. Cyber cafe owner's co-operation will be sought in order to check cyber crimes. House owners are advised to get details like Identity proof and mobile number before giving their houses for rent.' He also said that as per the population and other parameters, we have shortage of police personnel, therefore he requested the people to press govt for the arrangement of Traffic Police in Bhatkal.

On this occasion Bhatkal Rabita Society President Mr Abullah Lanka, Mr Syed Hasan Barmavar, Seva Vahini President Mr Surendra Shanbhag, Marikamba Temple Management Committee and Bhatkal Merchant's Asscociation have announced to donate one CCTV camera each for this purpose. Later a Kannada magazine by Bhatkal police "Your Security is our Priority" was inaugurated and a short documentary film related to crimes was also demonstrated.

On this occasion TMC President Mr Inayatullah Shabandri, Urban Bank GM Mr Abdul Razzaq, CPI Mr Guru Mathur, Merchant Association President Mr Venkatesh Prabhu, Seva Vahini President Mr Surendra Shanbhag were present on the stage.

The meeting was concluded with the vote of thanks by town PSI Mr Manjunath Gowda. In this meet, general public also got time to express their thoughts.
