Bhatkal police calls peace meeting ahead of 'Maari Jaatra'

Bhatkal 3 August 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Bhatkal Police department called a peace meeting ahead of the upcoming Hindu festival 'Maari Jaatra' that will be celebrated between 7-9 August in Bhatkal, the meeting was called at IB Bhatkal here on Thursday August 2.
Addressing the meeting, Bhatkal Assistant Commissioner (AC) Sajid Ahmed Mulla said "Bhatkal Maari Jaatra celebration has its own significance, and is celebrated traditionally, and like every year the Taluka administration and the police department will arrange for all the requirements including adequate security and traffic management for the three day festival".
Mulla then instructed all the heads of the departments to make sure all the arrangements are in place and that law and order is maintained in the Taluka.
Bhatkal Dy.SP Valentine D'souza while lauding the efforts of general public during the Ramadan market said "We really appreciate people co-operating with the department during such events, we are also hoping same co-operation from public this time too".
Several other members and officials of various departments also spoke at the event and shared their ideas for maintaining peace and law and order in town during the event.
Members of Administrative committee of Marikambha temple, CPI KL Ganesh, TMC President Sadiq Matta, Jali Patan Panchayat President Syed Adam Panambur, General Secretary of Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem Altaf Kharuri and officials of various other departments and organizations were present during the meeting.
