Bhatkal: PLD Bank election officer files case against protesters

Bhatkal 24 August 2018: The election officer of PLD Bank Bhaskar Naik on Thursday registered a complained against the 16 shareholders of the bank for their alleged involvement in the protest on Wednesday where they also allegedly abused him.
On Wednesday 22 August, when some of the candidates who had lost the elections contested PLD Bank elections noticed the election officer inside the bank with other employees despite it being a government holiday for Bakrid, the candidates protested outside the bank alleging him to be tampering with the details of voters. A case was also filed against Bhaskar Naik for tampering votes during the election.
In this regard, Baskar Naik on Thursday filed a counter complaint at Bhatkal Town Police Station against 16 shareholders including Ramakrishna Madev Naik of Venktapur, Manjunath Lachhaya Naik of Belke, Erappa Manjappa Naik of Puravarga, Keshav Sankappa Naik of Chowtni, Venkatesh Sankappa Naik of Chowtni, Ganapati Ramachandra Naik of Talan, Satish Kuppaya Naik of Chowtni, Sudhakar Vasu Naik of Mankuli, Ramesh Sukra Naik of Talan, Vittal Honappa Naik of Talagod, Suresh Nagappa Naik of Mundalli, Madev Manjayya Naik of Mundalli, Devendra Mastappa Naik of Mud Bhatkal, Devidas Nagappa Naik of Ternamakki, Nagendra Subayya Naik of Sarpnkatta, Keshav Manjappa Naik of Shirali.
He in his complaint alleged that, he had to elect President and Vice President from the 15 member that won the elections and had to submit it to the higher authorities in Karwar. Thus, working overtime in this regard was necessary. But the above mentioned 16 men including theirs supporters misunderstood us and later protested, abused and gave him life threats.
ASI Vinod G Naik registered thes case against the 16, and assured him of further investigations and action accordingly.
