Bhatkal: Peace meeting organised ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi

Bhatkal 9 September 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Bhatkal police on Sunday organised peace meeting with the heads of several departments and organisations at the Circuit house of Bhatkal in the wake of Ganesh Chaturthi which will be celebrated from September 13. Bhatkal Tahsildar VN Bhadkar while addressing the gathering said “Every festival in Bhatkal is celebrated peacefuly in Bhatkal, and the administration is once again hoping that this festival will also be celebrated peacefully". He further reminded the public about the ban on idols made of ‘Plaster of Paris’ and urged them to go with idols made of mud instead. Bhatkal DySP. Valentine D’Souza also spoke on the occasion and said “The town is known for its religious harmony as me, the Assistant commissioner and Tahsildar belongs to different community and every time together conduct peace meeting on various occasion. This shows our religious integrity in the town.” he added. JDS leader Inayatullah Shabandari also spoke on the occasion and shared his ideas on the occasion for the peaceful celebration of the festival.
