Bhatkal 22 May 2017: A parked car within the premises of the house was allegedly attacked and damaged late at night at Umer Street Bhatkal.
According to the car owner, he parked the car at night after returning from Mangalore, but he he took a look at the car in the morning it was damaged, on the front side and the screen was found to be broken.
Owner Shafi Matta, was quick to inform the police about the incident and register an FIR about it, blaming some of his relatives to be behind the incident and cited some family feuds as the motive for them to attack and damage his property.
However while speaking to media he made several claims and hinted towards some influential figures to be behind it as he claimed the police was initially hesitant to register the FIR. After long insistence the FIR was register but not the way he had reported it. He further handed an copy of FIR which read the damage was caused due to an rock/stone which was there nearby the parked car which eventually fell on it. The FIR didn’t mention anything about the possibility of attack, which made Shafi to claim influential hands to be behind the curtains corrupting the FIR and police investigation.
