Bhatkal: One Dead in Omni-bike Accident, 3 from Mangalore Injured

Bhatkal - 20 Jan 2012: One person died on the spot and three others were injured in a road mishap that took place between a bike and a Maruti Omni at around 11.30 am on Friday January 20.

The accident occured near Teranmakki, Murdeshwar on national highway 17.

The deceased has been identified as Murdeshwar resident Saniyara Jatappa Naik (29), who was riding the bike.

Three people in the Omni, who are from Mangalore, were injured and admitted to Bhatkal government hospital. They are Purushottam who was driving, Murlidhar Bhat (29) and Ganga (46). They were on their way to Honnavar from Mangalore.

Eyewitnesses said that the Omni was speeding and rammed into the bike, killing the rider on the spot.Murdeshwar police have registered a case in this regard.
