Bengaluru: 24 January,2026 (Bhatkallys News Bureau) The Sheraton Grand Bangalore Hotel at Brigade Gateway is running a ten-day culinary showcase celebrating Bhatkali cuisine at its all-day dining restaurant, Feast, offering diners a rare opportunity to experience the traditional flavours of the Uttara Kannada coast.
The food festival, scheduled from January 18 to January 27, 2026, brings to the forefront Bhatkali, also known as Navayath cuisine, which originates from the coastal town of Bhatkal. Known for its distinctive blend of Arab, Persian and Konkani influences, the cuisine reflects centuries of cultural exchange and a strong coastal identity.
The culinary experience is being curated by Chef Fathima Riyaz, who specialises in Bhatkali cuisine, in collaboration with the hotel’s Executive Chef Sajid Patel. Drawing inspiration from her family’s traditional recipes, Chef Fathima has recreated authentic home-style dishes while presenting them in a refined, contemporary format suited to a fine-dining setting.
The specially curated menu features a range of traditional savouries and signature dishes such as Vermicelli Biryani, Mudkale, Haldi Pana Nevri, Matta Appo and Lonmeri-based preparations. The dessert selection includes classics like Khubusa Poli, Showfapana Poli, Shaala Pudding and Shoupapana Poli, highlighting the depth of flavours and culinary traditions associated with Bhatkali households.
The festival will be hosted at Feast, set in a warm and elegant ambience that complements the coastal food experience. While the celebration includes specially curated brunches on January 18 and January 25, guests can also enjoy the Bhatkali menu during lunch and dinner services on all other days of the festival.
The Sunday brunches are priced at ₹3,299 plus taxes for the non-alcoholic option and ₹4,299 plus taxes for brunch with alcohol. Lunch is priced at ₹2,699 plus taxes, while dinner is available at ₹2,899 plus taxes. The dining timings are from 12.30 pm to 4 pm for lunch and 7 pm to 11 pm for dinner.
