Bhatkal: New Shams School marks World Environment day with Forest officials

Bhatkallys News Service/ Rizwan Gangavali Bhatkal 05 June 2017: New Shams School market the world environment day in association with Bhatkal working Journalist association and Bhatkal Forest department by planting trees at their campus here on Jamia Abad road Bhatkal. Speaking at the event Ananth Hegde of Western Ghats task force spoke about the important factors that play vital roles in environment and how can one contribute in maintaining the greenery of the coastal belt. He also stressed his talk on how deforestation and other elements are affecting the rivers and how this can lead to a future where water of ocean will be used for drinking purposes and urged students to take the initiative themselves to preserve the environment. He also expressed his disappointment over the deforestation caused due to the widening of National Highway 66 from Karwar to Mangaluru, he further advised students to plant at least two trees a year and grow them for the well being of next generation. Ashraf Barmawar, Secretary Idara Tarbiyath Ikhwan, Campus Secretary Talha Siddibapa, Radha Krishna Bhat also addressed the event. The event was followed by tree plantation drive at campus of the school by Students and the officials.
