Bhatkal: Municipality annual general body meeting held, important issues and problems discussed

Bhatkallys News Bureau/ Rizwan Gangavali Bhatkal 31 July 2017: Town Municipal Corporation Bhatkal today organized it annual general body meeting at its office in Municipal complex. Councilors raised several issues pertaining to their respective wards and demanded immediate actions and solutions to it. Qaiser Mohtesham of Ghousia Street ward argued notably against the failure of Underground drainage system (UGD) in his ward, an issue which has been raised time and again to no avail over the years.  Qaiser stressed upon finding an permanent solution to the issue and said people are struck with one or the other problems all the time from failed UGD. Parvez Kashimji argued for distributing waste picking trucks among the wards for swift operations, and also batted for separate collections of revenue from waste picking be divided to their respective wards. He also urged the body raise awareness among the members and councilors about the existing and new schemes by the Government. Fayaz Mulla also complained about few employees of the TMC at their office and their misconduct with people and customers to which TMC president Sadiq Matta assured of necessary actions against such employees. TMC Chief officer and President assured councilor of finding solutions to their respective problems as soon as possible. Notably the women councilors didn’t raise many issues of their wards and seemed hesitant in raising their issues in the general body meeting. Which was not an pleasant sight to look at.
