Bhatkal: Moger community to protest against District administration for not categorizing them in SC despite High Court order

Bhatkal 7 August 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) The ‘Moger Samaj’ representatives on Thursday called a press meet in a private hotel of Bhatkal calling for peaceful protest against the Social Welfare Department and District Administration for ignoring Supreme Court and High Court order of listing the community in to Scheduled Cast (SC) category, the protest will be organized on 13th August here in Bhatkal. Speaking to the media the President of the organization KM Karki said “Taking into the consideration the Supreme Court’s order, the High court had directed the state Government to provide Schedule Cast (SC) certificate and Sindutva Certificate to the ‘Moger community’ of the district,bBut the Social welfare Department and the officials of District administrations went against the orders and didn’t categorized the community under Scheduled Caste". Karki further termed it to be 'injustice to the community by the administration and said they will organize a protest with over 5000 people of the community will take out peaceful rally from Shirali to Tahsildar's office where they will submit a memorandum to the Chief Minister through Tahsildar on Aug 13.
