Bhatkal: Man riding stolen vehicle arrested, confesses the crime of stealing it

Bhatkal 16 July 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Bhatkal rural police on Sunday arrested a man while riding a stolen bike at Shirali checkpost. The detained accused has been identified as Syed Unis Ahmed, a resident of Hanifabad. A few days back Ganapati Gonda of Marukeri locality reported the theft of his bike at Bhatkal rural police station. On Sunday, the accused along with his friend were crossing the Shirali checkpost was stopped by the police due to suspicion as he number plate of the bike was hidden with black tape, as soon as the police started inquiring about the bike and the purpose of hiding the number plate, the pillon rider friend of the accused fled the scene while the accused's attempt of escaping was busted by the police. The accused then confessed to the crime of stealing the bike of Ganapati Gonda. A case has been registered at Bhatkal rural police station and further inquiry is underway.
