Bhatkal: Man arrested for selling liquor illegally in public place

Bhatkal 6 September 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Bhatkal Rural police while working on a tip-off on Wednesday arrested a man allegedly while selling alcohol illegally in a public place near a private hotel of Shirali here on 5th of Sep. The detained accused has been identified as Ganapa Narayan Poojari (53), a resident of Kundapur. According to the Sources, Ganapa on Wednesday evening around 7:15 pm was allegedly selling alcohol near a private hotel of Shirali. Working on a credible information, the Police raided the spot and detained the accused. The police also seized alcohol worth Rs. 1539/- which includes 3 bottles of McDowell’s No-01 Wisky of 180 ML, 2 bottles of DSP Black-180 ML, 5 packets of Old Tavern-180 ML and 4 tins of Kingfisher Strong -500 ML. A case has been registered at Bhatkal Rural police station.
