Bhatkal man arrested by Mangaluuru Police for threatening to bomb Ullal mosque

Mangaluru: A 35-year-old man from Bhatkal has been taken into custody for allegedly posting a bomb threat message on Instagram that triggered concern online.

The accused, identified as Shankar Mastappa Moger of Devinagar, had posted a comment from the account “shankar11916” stating, “Support maadi bro ullal masjid hatra bomb blast madthini.” The message quickly spread across social media platforms.

The post came to the attention of Santosh Doddamani, who was assigned to monitor social media activity. He subsequently filed a complaint at the Ullal police station.

Acting on the complaint, police registered a case, traced the accused and arrested him. He has been produced before a court. Further investigation is underway.
