Bhatkal Jamia Islamia student completes hifz-ul-Quran in record 49 days

Bhatkal 3 September 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) A 21 year old student of Jamia Islamia Bhatkal, has set a record of its own by memorizing the entire Quran in 49 days, breaking the earlier record of the institution which was set at 55 days.
Jaffer Sawwan, a student of Jamia Islamia Bhatkal, completed his memorization of holy Quran in 49 days under the supervision of his mentor at the school, Moulana Sajid Momin on Sunday, 2 September.
His mentor, Moulana Sajid Momin, while speaking to Bhatkallys.com congratulated him on achieving such a feat while also adding that Sawwan used to memorize nearly one chapter of the holy book everyday.
"Right from the day Sawwan joined, he used to memorize at least half a chapter everyday if not a quarter, while I also remember the days where he has memorized over one and a half chapter in a single day" Moulana Sajid added.
Sawwan, who finished his Alimiath course in 2016, joined the hifz department of Jamia Islamia earlier in July this year and finished memorizing the holy book on September 2.
"I' am very thankful to Allah who has blessed me with this great gift of memorizing his holy book, I am also thankful to my parents and my teachers at Jamia Islamia who have guided me throughout this process" said Sawwan while speaking to Bhatkallys.com
When asked about how did he manage to complete the memorization in 49 days Sawwas added "It can be done. All you need is determination and duaa. You don’t even need all the time in the world".
A resident of Azad Nagar in Bhatkal, Sawwan is also grandson of prominent Urdu and Nawaity poet Iqbal Sayeedi.
