Bhatkal Heble Panchayath: 11 Councilors walk-out of general body meeting, accuse President of irregularities in developmental work

Bhatkal: Alleging serious irregularities in the developmental work in its jurisdiction and complaining about the uncanny attitude of Heble Panchayath President, 11 of the council members staged a walk-out from the general body meeting on Friday here in Bhatkal. Speaking to media reporters, Syed Ali, one of the councilors who walked out of the meeting, stated that the 11 councilors had submitted a written memo to the president asking him to call a special meeting to discuss developmental work. He added that the President instead of calling a special meeting, called a general body meeting leading the irked councilors to walk out. Another councilor accused the President of having irregularities in the funds of the body adding that he is excessively using the funds where the costing of work can be cut down to save money. “But instead, he is wasting the money of Panchayath,” he asserted. The 11 councilors have now called upon other councilors of the body to join them in their protest and in working for the development of the Panchayath vicinity.
