'Bhatkal has always been peaceful during festivals', Inayathullah Shabandri at Peace meeting

Bhatkal 16 July 2017: Police department organized an peace meeting at I.B office ahead of Marikamba festival which will be celebrated by the Non-Muslims of the town later this week.
Members of several social and political organizations were present at the meet including several officers from Police department and other administrations.
Assistant commissioner of Bhatkal Manjunath urged people to celebrate the festival in a peaceful manner and also requested to continue the tradition of celebrating the festivals peacefully, for which the town is hailed across the state and Nation.
Circle Police Inspector, Suresh Nayak while addressing the members of socio-political organizations of the town requested them to cooperate with police department to maintain law and order in the town and stressed upon them to not to take up law into their hands but to report any incidents of the miscreants to the Police for actions. He also instructed people about the road diversions that will come into play during the Marikamba festival from 18th to 20th July 2017 as heavy vehicles will not be allowed to pass some of the main roads of the town and that the subsequent diversions has been arranged for the same.
Vice president Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem Inayathullah Shabandri also addressed the meeting and assured the authorities of lending complete co-operation for maintaining the law and order in the town during the festive season and also reminded them of how Muslims of the town has contributed to the peaceful environment during the festivals of Non-Muslims of the town over the years.
Present at the meeting were Bhatkal Tahsildar VN Bhatkar, Dy. SP Shiv Kumar, Tanzeem Gen. Secy. Altaf Kharoori, Aut Union President Venkatesh Naik and members of other organizations of the town.
