Bhatkal Gram Panchayat Elections: 853 candidates file nomination papers

Bhatkal: December 12, 2020 (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Elections for 16 gram panchayats in Bhatkal taluka are going to be held on December 22 in the first phase for which a total of 853 candidates have filed nomination papers till Friday, the last day for filing nomination papers. While today (Saturday) all these pamphlets will be validated.
According to the details, 14 candidates had filed nomination papers on Monday, the first day, 80 candidates on the second day (Tuesday), 144 candidates on the third day (Wednesday), 276 candidates on the fourth day (Thursday) and the highest number of 339 candidates on Friday had filed nomination papers.
It may be mentioned that elections for 16 gram panchayats of Bhatkal taluka are going to be held on December 22 through ballot papers for which preparations are underway by the taluka and district administration.
Meanwhile, Bhatkal Tehsildar has issued a press statement saying that these polling booths have been replaced due to dilapidated condition of three polling booths in Murudeshwar.
According to Tehsildar, polling booth number 13/1. Vidhan Sabha Polling Booth No. 127 was located in the northern area of the current Model Kannada Boys Primary School, Murudeshwar. As the building is dilapidated, voting has been arranged in the southern area of the same school. Similarly, Polling No. 15 (Vidhan Sabha No. 127) poling booth was held at Model Kannada Boys Primary School, Murudeshwar. As it is located at a distance of more than 10 km for the public, it has been converted into a polling facility in Room No. 1 of the Government Higher Primary School, Kodsol. Similarly, Polling Booth No. 73/2 (Vidhan Sabha Polling Booth No. 245) was in Higher Primary School (western area of Mardi), this building has also been relocated due to dilapidation and has been arranged in the Higher Primary School (eastern area of Mardi).
