Bhatkal Government Hospital finally receives stock of vaccine that treats mad dog's bite; THO confirms while speaking to Bhatkallys.com

Bhatkal 17 September 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Vaccination used in the treatment of mad dog's bite has finally been made available at the Taluka Government Hospital Bhatkal according to Taluka Health Officer Murthiraj Bhat, who confirmed the news while speaking to Bhatkallys.com.
Questions were raised about the competency of the Taluka medical administration after mad stray dog attacked eight people including a ten year old kid, and due to unavailability of adequate vaccines, the patients were forced to be moved to Manipal hospitals for treatments.
After the issue caught public eye on social media Taluka Health Officer Murthiraj Bhat, had clarified that the vaccine supply was not in place and hence it was out of stock, he had informed that the order has been placed and that the vaccine will be made available soon.
Speaking to Bhatkallys.com on Sunday evening Bhat confirmed that about the hospital has received about 20 units of the vaccine in the stock, and people will not have to purchase the vaccine from private medical stores or neither they will have to move to private hospitals out of Bhatkal for treatment.
"Earlier we had shortage of supply for that particular vaccine that treats mad dog's bite, now after reports of multiple such attacks were reported by local media, we have stocked up the vaccination, we now have about 20 units ready and we will now keep the stock ready all the time" Bhat added.
He further requested Gram Panchayath officials to take necessary actions and steps to control animal birth as it is proving to be dangerous for residents now, and adequate measures are needed for public safety.
