Bhatkal forest officials arrest two for hunting deer in Murdeshwar forest range

Murdeshwar 29 August 2018:  (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Bhatkal forest officials along with their counterparts of Manki, arrested two men on Tuesday morning for allegedly hunting down a wild animal on Murdeshwar forest range in Bhatkal Taluka. The detained accused have been identified as Venkataramana Honnaiah Naik and Sharat Venkataramana Naik, both resident of Murdeshwar, while another accused Eshwar Honnaiah Naik and Shrikanth Naik fled the scene. According to the Sources, the two accused along with Eshwar Honnaiah Naik and Shrikant Naik hunted down a wild deer in the wee hours of Tuesday morning. The forest officials working on a tip off, raided the location and arrested two accused while also recovering a Gun, bullets, bike during the raid. Two other accused Eshwar Honappa and Shrikanth Naik managed to escape the arrest and fled the scene. The accused were later presented before the JMFC court of Bhatkal where they have been sent to Judicial custody till September 2. The operation was carried out by the officials of Bhatkal forest department and Murdeshwat forest department under the supervision of Bhatkal ACF Balachandra. (Bhatkallys News Bureau/ Fristen Dias)
