Bhatkal: Forest officials arrest two for carrying handmade guns without license

Bhatkal: The forest officials detained two men at Henjel of Bhatkal and Byndoor, for allegedly carrying handmade guns without any permit license, here on Saturday late night. The accused have been identified as Ashok Marati of Kekkod (39) and Vincent Sebastian of Byndoor (40). Based on a tip off RFO Savita Devadiga, raided the house of Ashok Marati and seized the handmade guns from him. Upon investigation, it was learnt that the gun belonged to Vincent of Byndoor. The forest officials of Bhatkal along with the Byndoor forest officials then reached the house of Vincent of Byndoor. The officials then arrested him and registered a case against him. A case has also been filed against Santosh Sebastian, brother of one of the accused for allegedly attacking forest officials when they came to arrest Vincent.
