Bhatkal food vlogger Abdul Muhaimin Sada wins ‘Rising Star’ award in Oman

Muscat: Abdul Muhaimin Sada, a food vlogger from Bhatkal, has received the ‘Rising Star’ award at the first Indian Content Creators & Inspirations Awards held in Muscat, Oman.

Known online as FoodCompanionOfficial, Muhaimin was recognised for his work in documenting Oman’s food culture through reviews, short videos, and local restaurant features.

With a Master’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication, he has built a following of over 8,000 people for his detailed reviews and storytelling. His work, including the popular “Oman Series,” has featured more than 250 restaurants, highlighting both small eateries and established food spots across the Sultanate.

Muhaimin also runs another page named ‘Oman Meri Jaan’ that has over 58,000 followers and promotes Omani Culture and Cuisine.

The award ceremony, organised by Areej Events & Marketing, took place at Marsa Plaza in Al Mouj, Muscat, as part of the “Rhythms and Colors of India” cultural festival. The event aimed to recognise Indian content creators based in Oman for their contributions across categories such as food, travel, lifestyle, and fashion.

Muhaimin was chosen from among over 300 content creators by a jury comprising journalists and media professionals. The event was inaugurated by the Indian Ambassador to Oman, H.E. G. V. Srinivas.
