Bhatkal: Fishing boat capsizes near Netrani island, 30 fishermen rescued

Bhatkal: 22 August (Bhatkallys News Bureau)  A major mishap was narrowly avoided near Netrani island in the Arabian Sea on Monday morning after a fishing boat carrying 30 fishermen capsized. Fortunately, all the fishermen were rescued by nearby boats that rushed to the spot.

The boat, identified as Maha Murdeshwar and owned by Anappa Baira Moger, sank completely during the incident. Sources said the accident occurred in the morning hours and the vessel was fully submerged, leading to an estimated loss of over ₹1 crore.

While no lives were lost, officials said more information about the cause of the accident and other details are still awaited.
