Bhatkal fares well in PU II exams; Soundarya Naik tops with 98% in Bhatkal

Bhatkal, 30 April 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Results for the recently concluded Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board’s (KSEEB) Department of Pre University Board Examination were announced on Monday. The overall pass percentage for Karnataka Grade 12 exams stood at 59.56%, with girls outshining boys. Out of 6.85 lakh students, 4.08 lakh have passed the exams.
Among districts, Dakshina Kannada emerged on the top with the highest pass percentage, followed by Udupi at number two and Kodagu on the third spot. Meanwhile, Chikkodi had the lowest pass percentage this year. Uttara Kannda District stood fourth among 32 districts. A total of 68 colleges registered 100 per cent results while 118 colleges saw all their students failing the exam.
In Bhatkal, students from Siddharta PU College secured 97.7% overall results with Soundary Naik scoring 587 marks (98%) to top the Science stream. Hussainair topped the commerce stream with 568 marks (95%). The college secured 100 distinctions overall with 87 and 13 in science and commerce respectively.
The New English PU College secured 96% pass rate with Mamata Irappa Naik scoring 565 marks (94.16%) to top the science stream in her college. Prateeksha P. Kadle scored 578 marks (96.33%) in the commerce stream as Bhavya Madev Naik scored 505 marks (84.16%) to top the arts stream.
Anand Ashram Composite PU College secured 93.33% results with Sanjana M Acharya topping in the science stream with an aggregate of (94%) while Khirunisa Shaza Shoaib topped the commerce stream (93% with 559 marks).
Anjuman Girls PU College secured 86.7% overall results with Sirajunnisa d/o Mohammed Fahim Africa emerging topper in the science stream (93.66% with 562 marks). Namra Takreem d/o Anwar Saleem Hajib tppped the commerce stream with a score of 97.8% (587 marks) while Nazneen d/o Akbar Sab Malligar topped Arts stream (90% 540 marks). The college secured 42 distinctions overall, 11 in Science, 22 in Commerce and 9 in arts.
Anjuman Boys PU College secured 71.06% overall result as Mohammed s/o Mohammed Saquib scored the highest in his college with a total of 515 marks (85.83%) while Mohammed Aqif s/o Mohammed Akil Asadi scored 564 marks (94%) to top the commerce stream. The college secured 5 distinctions overall - with four in commerce and one in science.
