Bhatkal driver chosen for NWKRTC ‘Suraksha Chalaka’ Silver Medal

Bhatkal: 08 November,2025 (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Ramachandra L. Naik, a driver from Bhatkal known for his disciplined and safe driving, has been selected by the North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) for the 2022–23 “Suraksha Chalaka” Silver Medal.

A resident of Kasalgadde in Talana village of Bhatkal taluk, Ramachandra Naik has been serving as a driver under the Sirsi division’s Bhatkal depot for the past five years without a single accident. His consistent record of safety while driving through heavy rains, rough terrains, and busy routes without incident earned him this recognition from the corporation.

The award will be presented during the inauguration ceremony of the new bus terminals in Hubballi–Dharwad. The event will be attended by Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, and several dignitaries.

Colleagues at the Bhatkal depot expressed happiness, saying Ramachandra Naik’s achievement is not just a proud moment for the depot but also an inspiration for transport staff across Uttara Kannada district.
