Bhatkal: Doctors remove multiple tumors from 40-year old woman's Uterus

Bhatkal: A team of Gynecologists in Bhatkal successfully operated on a local woman who had developed multiple fibroids (tumors) in her Uterus and successfully removed the tumors from the body. The woman is a 40-year old local resident who had approached the doctors complaining of excessive bleeding during her menstrual cycle. Checkups and examinations revealed that the patient had developed multiple tumors in her Uterus. The blood group of the patient was B –ve which meant the medical team had tough time to arrange adequate quantity of blood for her before the surgery. The team of doctors took nearly three hours to successfully complete the surgery and extract the tumor. Dr. Savita Kamat and Dr. Shamsnoor led the surgery and removed the tumors from the body of the woman. The patient is reportedly recovering after the surgery and the fibroids have been sent for pathology for further diagnosis and investigation.
