Bhatkal Cricket Club wins KSCA Division 4 tournament

Bhatkal 10 February 2019: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) In what can be termed as a remarkable feat, Bhatkal Cricket Club, has become the first club from Bhatkal to win a KSCA division level tournament, after beating Tanaji SC in the final of Hubballi Division 4 cricket tournament of Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), on Sunday, February 10. The team, consisting of players Bhatkal and adjoining towns, and led by Naseem Asarmatta of Bhatkal’s Lion Sports Centre, remained unbeaten in all the six matches it played in the tournament. Speaking to Bhatkallys.com, owner of the team, Waseem Km, added that the victory will provide opportunity for players to play at various level of domestic cricket in the near future. In the final match of the tournament, Bhatkal CC defeated Tanaji SC, after putting up a total of 129 runs in its 30 overs, Bhatkal CC bowlers ran through the batting line-up of Tanaji SC and bundled then at the score of 74 runs in 22.3 overs. As the winning team was scheduled to reach Bhatkal late on Sunday evening, locals were planning to give them a warm welcome by receiving the players at Bhatkal Sports Academy’s office, with garlands and sweets.
