Bhatkal: Cops arrest three people consuming Ganja in public places

Bhatkal: Police have taken three persons into custody in separate cases for allegedly consuming ganja in public places in Bhatkal taluk.

According to police sources, the incidents were reported from Heble Jamiabad and near Jagtebail Ground in Venkatapur. The accused were found consuming the narcotic substance in open areas, following which police intercepted them on suspicion and carried out checks.

The accused have been identified as Asif K.A. (26), Bilal Ahmed (36) and Mohammad Rasool (34).

Police said preliminary examination indicated that the individuals had consumed ganja, which was later confirmed through medical tests.

Cases have been registered at the Bhatkal Rural Police Station based on complaints filed by PSIs Mallikarjun Korani and Bharamappa Belagali.
