Bhatkal: Coastal Security police issues warning to local fishermen ahead of cyclone Mekunu

Bhatkal 24 May 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) The local meteorology department has issued warning to fishermen and has asked them not to enter the sea for fishing as the Cyclone Mekunu is expected to create depression in the waters of Arabian sea.
Speaking to Bhatkallys.com over phone Madhukar Naik of Bhatkal Coastal Security Police informed "The meteorology department of the district has issued warning for next 24 hours as the cyclone Mekunu is approaching the Arabian sea, so we have informed the local fishermen here to not to venture into the sea."
According to the whether forecast the cyclone is expected to be contain the winds at the speed of 45-55 km/hr and gust upto 65 km/hr in the Arabian sea.
Oman and Yemen are put on alert as the countries are expected to be at the receiving end from the cyclone.
Fishermen from Karnataka, Kerala, Goa and Tamil Nadu are also been asked to not enter the waters for next 24 hours.
