Bhatkal celebrates Eid-ul-Fitr peacefully with religious fervour

30th July 2014 | Rizwan Gangavaly | Bhatkallys News Bhatkal – Thousands of Bhatkalis and residents across the state offered morning prayers on Tuesday as India celebrated the first day of Eid Al Fitr. Earlier the Moon Sighting Committee announced Tuesday as the first day of Eid Al Fitr, as Monday was the last day of Ramadan. In many places across India, moon was witnessed on the 30th night and hence Ramadan end was announced with 29 fasts while places including Bhatkal, Kerala observed 30 days of fast as crescent of Ramadan was witnessed one day earlier. Like previous year, this year too, Eid prayers were held in all Juma mosques of Bhatkal.
