Bhatkal - Eid-ul-Adha, a festival of sacrifice was celebrated in Bhatkal and almost all parts of India with traditional fervour and enthusiasm. Moulana Abdul Bari Nadvi, Imam and Khateeb Jama Masjid led the Eid prayers at Bhatkal Eidgah Grounds and delivered the sermon in-front of very huge gathering. In his Khutbah he offered Eid greetings to all and requested to maintain peace and harmony in the town. He said that, the Qurbani is a sunnah of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The main objective of this ritual is to remember the supreme sacrifice offered by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and to sacrifice our wishes in-front of Allah's command. He also gave some useful advice in his speech.

Police department has made elaborate security arrangements for the peaceful celebration of Eid.
